To start, First get a google analytics account, to know from where do you get the most traffic, from where you need to optimize, etc.
then, please check first the make money with your site section.. to place ads and get money from this traffic.

nice blog,more info to moneytize our blog.I agree too that digg is one of way to drive trafic.but I think it will be powerfull if our posting place on the front page.it mean we must ready to competicion with another digger.so its not easy as we are predicted.
