Finally apple is going to release a decent iphone firmware. With the iphone 3.0, you can copy & paste, you can use bluetooth for some things, you can send mms, and some other things.
Dev-team has said that the iphone 3.0 firmware is unlockable, you can jailbreak it, or unlock it, but they wont release a tool to do it for now until its officialy released. They just give one advice, dont upgrade your iphone 3g with the firmware 3.0, because it will update the baseband and the yellowsnow app will be useless. Be patient and wait for a custom firmware or for a newer version of yellowsnow.
When the iphone 3.0 is released, i will post here step by step, how to upgrade your iphone to the 3.0 firmware, and how to unlock/jailbreak it.

Use quickpwn 3.0 beta. It works on os 3.0 beta 3. U can find the downloads threw torrent sites.

The iPhone 3G S will be for sale on the 19th, but you can upgrade for free on the 17th.

If I used Quickpwn to Jailbreak my iPhone 3g, because I didn’t think I would want to unlock it, but now I do want to unlock it, will I be able to unlock it if I jailbreak with iPhone 3.0?

The Dev Team has an unlock called ultrasnow coming out june 19th so you will be able to unlock your iphone tomorrow.

Hi,
I bought an iPhone which was jailbroken earlier(prior to purchase)in Singapore and the version I guess is 1.1.3 and have never upgraded. But, yesterday when ver 3.0 was released, with the hype and out of curiosity to get the latest options I hit the button upgrade in itunes. It got upgraded to the ver 3.0 and then the mobiles says it can make only emergency calls and when connected to itunes, it says a compatible sim card from supported carrier has to be used to use the mobile.
When I check with Ziphone it says not able to establish connection properly.
I request yu to please advise as to how to reset (or unlock) to make my phone useful.

If an iphone is already unlocked for any carrier, THEN updated to 3.0 thru the apple website, will that pose any problems? i’m a techie noob so not sure as im looking to buy a used one on craigslist
