Easy Guide to Unlock your iphone 3g / 3gs
THis guide wont work with the stock 3.1.3 iphone 3gs. it needs to have the older bootrom.
Ipod touch 3g is currently not supported.
BIGSTEP 1: Jailbreak Your iphone
1.-.Get your stuff updated. Update Itunes to the latest version, and make sure your iphone runs the latest iphone firmware 3.1.3.
2.- Sync and Backup everything!: This step is very important if you have lot of photos, data, etc. in your iphone. Start itunes and sync with your iphone.
3.-Download Sn0wbreeze, have it on your desktop.
4.-Start Sn0wbreeze, and select simple mode.
5.-Snowbreeze will ask you for your iphone firmware, search it in your computer and select it. its the ipsw file.
6.-Unlock your iphone. Click on yes or no when snowbreeze ask for activating your iphone.
7.- Wait. sn0wbreeze will create the custom firmware for you.
8.- Now, go to itunes and select your iphone. Press restore while pressing shift, and you will be asked to locate a file. locate the file created with sn0wbreeze.
9.-Wait until itunes finishes, be patient.
10.- After its unlocked and jailbroken, you can restore your backup that you made before.

it is not illegal to unlock your iphone. It, however, should be illegal for companies who distribute phones, such as ATT and Apple to withhold unlock codes to their cellular devices. Binding me to a phone that I already paid for should be illegal.
It is mine now, I own it, and, so i should get everything that comes with it, including the unlock codes.

Works fine with me. Do not pay anything for this service. To jailbreak and unlock your iphone is totally free, works and if you ever want to go back to the legit verison, just restore you iphone through Itunes.

I did all that shit had it unlocked then acidentally updated my software to 2.2 then i reinstalled 2.1 and did it all over again and evreything worked fine till it was jailbroken then now theres no option for carriers and when i put in the sim card it just doesnt give me tmobile service

Hi, jsut to make it clear the way I understood the unlocking of the Iphone 3g. Since my iphone is already jailbroken with the firmware (2.2), I need to restore it again to the factory settings? That’s what restore means right? Then I’ll have to jailbreak it again using quickpwn which i have? I ahve to unlock this without the sim on the phone. this is how you do it
1 run redsn0w 8 to jailbrake via itunes 8.2
2 run ultrasn0w via your iphone, using cydia to unlock it(remember to diable 3g in settings)

Matt, there are steps you have to follow in the right order, and also it depends what firmware and version is already on your iphone.
Read the instructions carefully. then read them again.
have you tried switching your phone off and restarting.
you cant keep trying different programs without doing a
“restore” as the instructions from the dev-team,
if you need a more detailed instructions, leave a coment detailing your firmware,version and iphone model
