iphone troublesAre you looking to buy an iphone? Yes, it looks very cool, and it is! But… let me ruin your day, check out the iphone complaints, you will be impressed with all the cons the iphone have.

    • No support for custom ringtones

What?? Yes! You can’t use iphone music as the iphones ringtones, although, there is some hack to do this, because it’s annoying that your iphone sounds “ring, ring” every time someone call you. If you want to have your favorite track as your ringtone, you have to pay 2$…

    iphone battery

    • Where’s the removable battery?”

That was the first iphone complaint. The iphone has no removable battery, and if it drains, you have to go to the apple store so they can change it.

    • Iphone Battery life shorter than promised

The company says the iphone will feature up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, and 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback.

Of course, this promise has a big asterisk, saying:

“All Battery claims are dependent upon network configuration and many other factors; actual results may vary.”

So, in conclusion, you can’t wait that your iphone battery lives a lot!

    iphone can do all

    • Iphone Sound volume insufficient

    Some iphone buyer, said:

“I can’t even hear when the iphone rings, so the YouTube, movie player also sucks, because the sound quality is bad”

Don’t wait to have a party with the speakers of your iphone :D

    • Lack of Flash support in the web browser

Yes, although the iphone has a built-in flash player on the web-browser, don’t expect to have a great quality on the videos, because it has lacks.

    • Built-in GPS is not user accessible

I haven’t tried to use the gps function, but if it isn’t user accessible, I think its crap again.

    • Built-in Bluetooth cannot be used for data transfer

What?? Yes, you can’t share files with friends. Sorry for this big complaint.

    • Built-in camera has no ability to be adjusted

The camera is great, but it can’t be adjusted by you.

    • Lack of useful applications (SSH, SFTP, VNC, Remote Desktop)

All the applications of the iphone are very cool and different, but they aren’t fast! It’s like a slow computer.

    • No games for the iphone

Sorry, when I heard this, I cancelled my iphone order. What is a mobile phone without games? Imagine that you are in an airplane, and it crashes, and falls into an island. What would be of your life without games? :D (Sorry for that lost episode copy)

    • No voice dialing

No, the iphone is not for people that want to call someone without the fingers. It doesn’t have voice dialing feature.

    • Keyboard is very difficult to use

Well, this is a little dumb complaint, because with some months of using it, you will be able to write in the keyboard like a pro! But anyway, this is another complaint.
Now, tell me, if you were going to buy the iphone, you are going to buy it now?

    Mobile contracts?

yes, at this time you can only have the iphone with t&t if you dont have it unlocked, so the mobile phone deals are not cool! the best mobile contracts with the iphone arent cheap, and you have to have a minimum income too.

Do you have the iphone? What other complaints do you have?

Feel free to tell me that in the comments.

i have another complaint to the list. It cant transfer items to another cellphone.

    • diego Says:

@jim. Yes, you cant exchange things with friends. as far as i know. i dont know really.

    • freddy Says:

i was going to buy the ihone now i dont think i will

    • mike Says:

It does not have true bluetooth. It cannot cut and paste. It has no search feature. other than that, i love it. But those are 3 big negatives.

    • mark Says:

Cannot activate this “darling of technology”, despite waiting 1.5 days to do such. It’s a total ripoff- Too much “over the top technology” versus delivering reasonable value to consumers. I returned this rotten apple.

    • Found Wanting Says:

Have owned in less then a week, great features, mostly i like the connection and the texting features, what really makes me mad is the battery life bites! charged 12+hours, turned on at 7:30 am, battery was dead in 6-hours, and only having made a single phone call otherwise the phone sat in its holster doing nothing that whole time, all it had to do was be on…whats the point of having a cell phone if you can’t have it on? my business requires that it remain on…a good thing I have a star reporter for a friend…shes getting a great storry about a new phone that is pretty much worthless.

    • Paul Says:

I was asking myself alot of questions about the iPhone and i truly believe it a pr success problem is people have missed the vitals and blindly gone out to buy one thinking its cool to have one?
this phone lacks the very features that are industry standard in mobile technology and use. yes its software is somewhat new and yes its concept is ground braking but they have placed to much emphasis on the new rather than offering the old included.
ther is no caching to help speed applications? theres no sharing through bluetooth. the WiFi has an incredibly weak signal unless your sitting ontop of the transmitter.
data connections are seriously slow in certain area’s of use and safari well judging by the reaction and reviews you would probably need to go on safari to find the page.
i still havent gauged enough from the public wether the software for touch is reliable as i myself think this new technology in mobiles still needs some fine tuning and developement.
its far to early to place our faith in button free phones.
The other totaly irritating thing to me is since when should we have to pay to have our own ringtones set to personal use? there aim is to grab as much money as they can by making you pay for somethings which are free and would expect to be free on all other handsets.
For me Sony Ericcson still offer practicality, ease and pure unadolterated sexy reliable mobiles, I think i’ll stay with them a while.

    • Ed Says:

      Thanks for all the input…
I had my auction bidder set to grab and unlocked Iphone
on Ebay, but after reading your message board, I think
I’ll give’em another year or two before I invest.

    • John Says:

I thought about buying an iPhone, but after talking with the sales person, it is very difficult, not as easy as just swaping your sim card. Would have to re-enter all of my information. Too much work for this thing. My question is what other option is there? What will be the next piece of tech coming out that will compare or out do the iPhone?

      Thanks

    • diego Says:

@john, another good option is the nokia n95, with gps and wifi, and there is a version with 8gb of memory, thats one of the bests phones i know, im going to review this phone, and will make a post about its complaints too next week.

@ed: yes, the iphone its not the best gadget, try searching another phone better.

@paul: thnks fr ur nice review and fr sharing it with other people!!! i think the same as u, i only bought the iphone cause its cool, and because its 8gb for music with built-in speakers (Cause the itouch doesnt have speakers)

@foundwaiting: theres an external iphone battery, witch let charge your iphone 3 times again.

    • Bev Says:

Just got my iphone…I will be taking it back. The sound
is bad,and its difficult to pick up messages. It takes too
much time to download a message; so if you missed a call..
too much button pushing to hear the message. Its more of
a play toy; not for business. If you watch the instructions
you can see its really for people who want to play with
pictures. I’m disappointed to say the least. My other
phone is disconnected; so I am pretty much out of business
until I return the phone, buy a new one, and change my
plan. Did I mention you can’t hear the ringer, the sound
adjustment is difficult to use, and doesn’t seem to work.
If you want a toy, buy it…it you need a phone for
business; my suggestion is to pass.

    • Dave Says:

My first apple product is an iphone. worked two days then no power. exchanged it for a new one, lasted 1 day. now i want my money back, however apple wants to charge me a restocking fee. Let me put this another way.
      I HAVEN’T HAD A WORKING PHONE IN A WEEK!
APPLE WILL GET MORE MONEY OUT OF ME FOR GIVING THEM THEIR BROKEN PHONE BACK!
Let’s recap, I leave the store without a phone and $40 out of pocket and lost time online and driving and work hours(since this is my work phone)
So no matter what happens with apple products you are stuck with them like it or not!

    • todd Says:

How did the idiots at crapple forget to allow text messages to be sent to multiple recipients or allow forwarding? I think a go phone from walmart can do that!

    • jasmine Says:

i bought this iphone yesterday, spent a ton of money on it and i cant even turn it on only certain computers can. they said it will be a 10% penalty if i returned it
but i will gladly pay that to get something that works. i have already called all my freinds that were considering getting it and told them not to i have owned a total of four phones and all of them were better than this

    • AVERY Says:

i bought the iphone 2 days ago and returned it for a razr v9. the iphone is beautiful, however, the beautiful headset only last a fraction of the time stated in the manual. this headset cannot be used to place calls. bottom line, this iphone is really an ipod with some phone capabilities. calling it an iphone is not correct, this device should be called and ipod with some phone functions, anyone desiring an ipod would fall in love deeply, anyone who wishes to have a phone will be left completley dissatisfied, the voice dial features are nonexistent. the iphone is really a music device. i would reccomend to apple that us old folks don’t care about all the music stuff. desing an iphone for talkers only,… with pics and weather for us old folks…then sales would rise…have multiple versions of this phone.

    • BiGdiCkMan Says:

The ipHONE is the Best phone ever .. yea it has problems but what phone doesnt

    • spyro Says:

apple was smart to make it look good when i first saw it i thought it was the best phone i ever saw. but its not it only looks GREAT but once you use it many complaints

thanks guys for warning me i was about to buy it..!!

    • kid 2000 Says:

The Iphone is a great phone, but as you have read it does have some draw backs. The thing i hate the most about the iphone is when you put the unit up to your ear to talk the “mute”, “hold”, “keypad” icons are all there and they are sensitive as well. So, if you are talking to some one you can either put them on hold, mute them, or end the call without even knowing it with your cheek.

    • lisa Says:

I visited my local AT&T store this afternoon, anxious & excited to purchase an iPhone! I’ve wanted one for quite some time & having recently gotten holiday money, I was going! I was quickly disappointed!

My employment with the city of New York makes me eligible for a discount up to 20% on my monthly service. Being a city employee, this surely helps a lot. I was surprised to find out that if I purchased my new iPhone, the monthly usage discount (called ‘FAN’ in the store) would no longer apply. This did not make sense to me since I wasn’t looking for a discount on the purchase. I just wanted to maintain my monthly discount.

I called AT&T after coming back to my office & they confirmed that there is a deal with Apple & AT&T. Corporate discounts are null & void with the purchase of an iPhone.

I have to say how upsetting & appalled I am at this. I currently own a Blackberry – for personal use. I pay up to $80-$100 a month (inclusive of my current corporate discount). I think it is horrible to rob many of a much needed monthly usage discount. These phones are flying off the shelves. Many buying them this holiday season were municipal employees like me. There are many who purchased an iPhone in my company that would NOT have, had they known @ the voided discount. I will now be sure the tell them. Hopefully the 14 day period will not have passed & they can get a refund.

Today, AT&T/Apple lost $463.00 CASH + $960 a year in usage. They may now lose me as a customer all together.

    • iPhone Lover Says:

I love my iPhone, but its Safari web browser *cannot* remember passwords. (It can only remember passwords stored in cookies.)

Although the web browsing experience on the iPhone is by far the best I’ve seen on any phone, this is my one major complaint. It is a royal pain always to have to re-type my passwords into Safari.

If anyone knows of a work-around, please comment.

    • donald Says:

I just met a few people at a convention and they helped
me fix my iphone (hotmail)and download problems!

      call Tom or Bill at (512) 894-0453 (713) 863-8564

    • Larry Says:

I filled out all of the right paperwork to get my rebate for purchase, waited for weeks, then received a Visa money card in the mail. Call the number to activate. Simple, right? Wrong! I inputed the card number and the last four digits of the cel number, wouldn;t activate. Keep tryting No good. Called the phone number on the back. Got sent into computer hell as I was repeatedly asked to input card number and last four phone digits. Still nothing. No live person to help. Anyone else with this problem? I’m pissed!

    • user Says:

it does not support 3g calls
      it has just one cam
it does not have a GPRS
the enternal speaker is too law so I have to use the earphone all the time

    • Todd Says:

Good list. I am going to try to expand that with my desires for the iphone…

      -Google Calendar syncing (over air)
      -No copy and paste function
      -Flash video support
      -Video recording
      -Sideways keyboard in all application
-Ability to save images from the web
-Auto fly of the SMS screen (In Safari you can fly to the top of the screen by pressing the top bar… That should happen in the SMS screen too so you can access the “Call Contact” and “Contact Info” buttons)
-Printing. The ability to connect to a printer would be huge. That goes along with serious activation of bluetooth functions
-Pix messages application. Ridiculous that you can’t access pix messages on your iphone.
      -Video recording

I’m lazy, so I didn’t remove the items from my list that are listed above, but that’s what I got right now.

    • dolphingirlslu Says:

Putting the phone on silent (switch on side) only silences the ringer for incoming calls, not for previously set alarms!! (Rather embarassing for phone to start making noise during someone’s PhD defense…) Every other phone i’ve ever owned silences anything about the phone which could possibly make noise when put in silent mode.

also, i agree with kid2000 about the cheek thing!

    • diego Says:

      Iphone now DOES:
      Video REcording.
      save images from the web
      skype calls over wifi

    • carol mancini Says:

I am furious that I find my iphone does not recieve pictures via text. The “view my message” web site is inaccessible. This is a basic camera phone function. Please fix it in the next upgrade download!!!

    • mason!! Says:

The inability to acess iTunes without wi-fi is truly insane

    • Travis Says:

First iPhone: Broke after about 3 months….Replaced

Second iPhone: Broke after one day….Replaced

Third iPhone: Broke after about two weeks….Really pissed off.

Apple won’t do anything about it but keep giving me refurb old model phones. Really crappy service and really crappy product.

    • Peter Moore Says:

The most maddening thing to me is the text manipulation is so primitive. You can’t CUT COPY or PASTE text. Not in any application, much less from app to app. And you can’t SELECT text by running your finger over a sentence or a phrase, even just to delete it. (To delete, you have to sit there and press backspace for every character. Wha…? Seriously?) And why can’t there be a memo pad/to do list that a) does the above, and b) sync and backs up with a sister app on my desktop computer? Why does every third party list or memo app- maker think I want to “sync” info from my iPhone by sending the info via email to my desktop computer? Especially when I can’t cut and paste that info once it’s back on my iPhone anyway, it’ll just sit in my iPhone’s mail folder. I had Palm products since 2000 and they’ve had a sync-able memo and to do lists, and basic word-processing capabilities.

    • Dian Says:

I made a very important note on my iphone. I needed to rely on this info. I was editing the note in the middle of the page. I hit the back space key once and in front of my eyes it kept deleting everything the top half of my note (letter by letter). I called apple and they said they never heard of it. None the less it happened and the screen and my hands were dry and clean. So I guess I am just shit out of luck, whatever that means.

    • Jordan Says:

      .

    • Jordan Says:

      Hey.
Well yea. Basically the iPhone is a piee of shi*.
I hate this phone to pits. Im like 14, and for my Birthday, my granny bought me this phone. Well all my frineds told me not to buy it. But i didn’t listen..-.-
So today I was changing my case and it dropped.
The power on button got smashed in, cracked the camara, and popped the screen out!!! And the sad part about it is..it dropped on the carpet?!!?!?!
I hate this phone so much.
P.S. Once my gran saw it on the ground. She got REALLY mad.!!!

    • N. Koshak Says:

I never ever thought I would be disappointed with Apple. My Iphone just took a dump after only 11 months of use. It’s unreal. I took it to the Apple store and they said the chargeable port looks somewhat rusted. What the hell? I babied that phone. Needless to say, I’ll never buy anything else from them. Definitely not worth the money. Every product they make has numerous bugs and the hardware falls apart under a year as well. Don’t buy stuff from Apple.

      Very Unhappy

    • D. Wright Says:

I agree with all of you. Apple has a technology in the iphone that has so much promise but that is so dissapointing. It’s a proprietory deal. They want to sell you something in addition to your phone purchase. But to imagine that some “smart dudes” would manufactur a product with so many limitations is unbeleivable.

      1. can’t text images

      2. can’t use your own cd or voice recordings to create ring tones.

      3. no one touch dial

      4. no voice dialing

      5. itunes suck, difficult to manage files. Must buy from itunes.

      6. Other from the above, I like my iphone.

    • EJ Breen Says:

three week iphone wouldnt charge…store said its ok can fix…didnt fix..next day mgr takes into back room and returns to announce water damage….tough…you can buy a new one….for the same u paid fr this one…this phone was nowhere near H2o…what gall and arrogance… THREE WEEKS!!!!….any one else have a battery charger prob turn into water miraculously??? Pretty sleazy

    • Chris Says:

      Problems with iPhone
      No cut and paste
Blutooth slow and can’t send files
      No mms function
      Can’t customize ringtones
      Can’t customize anything
      Camera has no zoom
      Camera has no flash
      Can’t remove battery
      Battery power too short
Can’t access certain pages no flash player
      And the list keeps growing…..
New iPhone 32gig will have some issues addressed but that means users will have to fork out more $$$
Apple has already given me some money back due to misleading and deceptive conduct in a trade or comerce :) got a problem with a store manager or apple? Quote the LAW :) goodluck!

    • almost iphone buyer Says:

wow, thanks for all the comments! I’ve been doing a lot of research on a lot of phones recently to avoid my Alltel conversion to Verizon. I went to AT&T website to read customer reviews for the iPhone…there aren’t any. There were customer reviews for every other phone listed except the iPhone. I found this slightly troubling but I decided to go the AT&T store to speak with someone, ask them what kind of problems people were having…naturally they said it’s the best thing since sliced bread! They even said it blew Blackberry out of the water. Well, thanks to even more research and these (plus more) comments, I will not be purchasing the iPhone.

p.s. on a side note, my neice has an iTouch (as do I) and she had the black screen of death on it. Tried to restore default, all that. Sent it back to Apple and they said the same things….water damage!! Apparently, they need to install those little rubbery flaps that cover openings like all the freebie phones have!

    • Carol Says:

The iPhone is the worst phone I have ever had. I hate it. The customer service at the Lynnwood, Washington Store is full of a bunch of arogant, rude, snobs. I have had the phone just over 6 weeks, so of course I can’t return it to the AT&T store. It drops calls all the time, even though I have the full 5 bars showing on my phone. I would recommend that anyone considering an iPhone to think again don’t buy an iPhone!

    • cesargmendez Says:

I strongly rexomend the blackberry storm for those got disappointed.
With the iphone.you can do everything you are not able
To do on an iphone and the email features are the
Best and after all the price is almost the same

    • Carrie Says:

DROPPED CALLS ARE AN AT&T PROBLEM / NOT AN IPHONE ONE !!!!!!!
The iPhone rocks. Check prices on Ebay. Everyone knows this phone is a winner.
This is why every other phone copies it.

However AT&T is gouging their customers for every possible dollar.
They hold the customer to their contract while they do not deliver the promised service. Every time you have a dropped or failed call, CALL AT&T AND ASK FOR A CREDIT. Once their reps are swapped with complaints, they will think about delivering service.

An AT&T rep bragged to me that they didn’t care out failed calls.
He stated that their contract exempted AT&T from responsibility for an call problems. But, of course, the customer still pays and is held to his contract.

CALL AT&T AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YOUR CALL QUALITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • JP Says:

The genius bar is all crap and full of sh..! They claimed that the i phone had water damage, the unit was never near or close to any fluids. Apple refused to provide me with a written report of the water damage. Lets all join and file complaints to the Federal Trade Commsion @ http://www.ftccomplaintsssistant.gov and the better business business Bureau, and to their investor relations @ investor_relations@apple.com.

good luck to all and sh.. on all apple products since they do not honor their so call warranty

    • iPhone Deals Says:

Well , may be there were some problems in the earlier version of iPhone but the latest iPhone deals that associates the latest iPhone 3G S have no problems like you have mentioned. It is faster like a rocket.

    • Ron Says:

What about ability to multi function ie play pandora while surfing the phone. Or name pictures. Or why on earth can’t you say you want all emails marked read????

    • cesargmendez Says:

Just to think that you cannot personalize the iphone like themes and that you cannot receive any pictures leave it out of my list.ithink iam gonna stick to my blackberry storm.I just love it.if you are gonna buy an iphone think twice.don’t go for the looks.you will regreat.

    • sm Says:

lately may iphone battery drains.. and when i charge it, it takes 5 hours to charge

    • Johnnie Says:

      That’s funny!
I just got my 3g and it’s already froze up on me for 3 days and only after 2 weeks it’s blacked out on me. I can’t turn it on. So, I’ve lost all my business contacts and out of business. NEED I SAY MORE!!!

I’m just hoping the dealer will not come at me with water damage bull%$#$. my iphone hasn’t gone anywhere near any type of liquid.

    • Billy Says:

Lots of the above issues have been sorted but new
problems occur all the time. When I turn on the 3G
it cuts my network connection, & the 3G doesn’t come
on either! It worked fine before the 3Gs came out,
call me paranoid but apple turn their backs on
consumers and products as soon as it’s not the latest
thing. APPLE, I still use this product!!! This is a
GREAT invention(!) but give me Microsoft any day,
freedom, sharing and upgradability (ESP with computers).

    • Abhishek Sah Says:

I am Abhishek Sah and i bought my iphone from AIRTIME office which is located in Kormangala (Bangalore) on 1st May 2009. I was one of the 1st buyer of iPhone in bangalore and it was crearly told to me that if my iPhone gets hanged then it will be replaced within 7 days time.

I was having hanging problem for almost last 5 months and Mr. Abdul from AIRTIME office tried to help me out over call, as i was out of station by asking me to set the default setting or reset my iPhone but still it was getting hanged. I was in regular contact with Mr. Abdul for last 5 months. Specially wenever i get a call, i see the message SLIDE TO ANSWER but i am not able to slide it and thus not able to answer the call. It can be the most irritating and frustrating for any customer.

I am also having some issue with the battery. At times it runs for whole day with wifi off, edge off, brightness 30% and at times with the same settings full battery gets dried up in just 2 without even taking too many calls.

On 7th April 2010 i gave my iphone for replacement (as promised to me by Mr. Abdul and Mr. Narendra that within 7 days they will replace it) but instead of 7 days they took exactly 23 days and the answer i got from them was more frustrating than anything. They told me WATER LOG is there in the cell phone so they cant replace it.

I am 200 % sure there can not be any water log inside because me being the only user of the mobile i took extra care of my expensive cell phone. I am also attaching the snap shots of my iPhone cover.

I am aware of the instrument which blinks RED when there is water log in a mobile. But there is a very strong possibility that moisture might hav formed because of the humid climate of bangalore and Chennai as i keep travelling to chennai too. and for this moisture formation i am very sure apple can not blame the user.

I was also planning to get 1 more iPhone for my brother but i have just postponed it because of the silly excuse i have got.

I would be more than happy if you could look into the matter seriously and get it exchanged at the earliest as my cell is still with Airtime.

Looking forward to get a possitive response from your end as soon as possible and strongly feel you will keep the name and reputation of APPLE as told to me by AASAMA from AIRTIME

      Thanks and Regards

Went back May 25th, was told it … See Morewould cost $30.00 more a month and was told the manager was on vacation! Called today, found out she was not on vacation and that the phone is out of stock and that Apple is gettting ready to release a new phone in two weeks, and that we were given mis-information and that in order to buy the phone at the $99.00 price it would have to include a $30.00 monthly service fee onto of the price that we pay now for two phones…..I’ll so pissed I could spit. We told the manager I would come in on my birthday to buy the IPHONE for $99.00 and she said nothing would change with the plan, traded my old phone for (3rd time) for another one, it came FED EX next day, even gave Kevin a new battery….so the manager was working us up with what I thought was good customer service. We went back May 25th, was told it would cost $30.00 more a month and was told the manager was on vacation! Why must the screen be heat sensored? Women with long nails i.e. Barbara Streisand, cant even use the iPhone. Cant use a pencil top, cant use my finger tip as it is connected to a very long nail. I guess we are just singled out and s*** out of luck.
